The governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, swore in Brigadier General Sinuhé Téllez López as the new Secretary of Public Security for the state, replacing General Óscar Rentería Schazarino, who has returned to the Secretariat of National Defense. The governor appointed Téllez López at the proposal of the Secretary of National Defense, Ricardo Treviño Trejo. With this change, the third replacement in the leadership of the state Secretariat of Public Security is confirmed in the current administration. “We worked very well with General Schazarino, he supported us a lot in the coordination between all forces, and coordination will continue. So, first of all, I want to express my recognition to General Schazarino; and General Trevilla did me the favor of proposing a new secretary, who is General Sinuhé Téllez López,” Rocha Moya expressed during the swearing-in ceremony. Téllez, who served as commander of the 110th Infantry Battalion, thanked the Sinaloa governor for the trust and committed to strengthening the security strategy in the entity with the support of the federal government. Additionally, he recognized the work of his predecessor and his team. General Téllez has a 35-year career in the armed forces. He has held various positions, including commander of the 110th Infantry Battalion and military attaché at the Mexican embassy in Germany. His predecessor, General Schazarino, served in the position for about 15 months.
