A new episode of confrontation has emerged in the 'Fourth Transformation' colony in Tultitlán following recent protests by residents. Dissatisfied with the street renaming, they took direct action to intervene in public space and renamed these thoroughfares. In response, residents symbolically replaced street names with political and social criticism messages, highlighting their discontent. However, the City Council reiterated its position and requested the removal of the posters, considering them a disruption to public order and official nomenclature. The situation has left the colony in a state of uncertainty. Residents rename the streets. Inhabitants placed cardboard signs with critical names such as 'Segalmex Embezzlement', 'Fiscal Huachicol', 'Narco-State', and 'La Barredora Cartel', an action reflecting their frustration over the lack of resolution to the conflict. According to recent reports, residents have also begun to refer to the area as 'Fourth Transformation' in a protest tone. This measure generated new friction between authorities and residents, with reports of arguments and tense moments during operations this Monday. The conflict dates back to late 2024, when the municipal government renamed the colony and various streets with references to the so-called 'Fourth Transformation'. Residents argue that the original imposition—carried out without prior consultation—continues to affect their daily lives, from official procedures to basic services. The action arises from what they perceive as the slow pace of the legal litigation seeking to reverse the official name of the colony and its streets. Since then, protests, blockades, injunctions, and clashes have been registered, with no definitive solution to date.
