PAN Opens Registration for Citizens for 2027 Elections

Mexico's PAN has launched a digital registration process for all citizens wishing to run in the 2027 elections, regardless of party affiliation. This is the first step in forming a list of candidates.

The National Action Party (PAN) has opened registration for citizens seeking public office in the 2027 midterm elections. This first stage is conducted digitally and is aimed at attracting all interested individuals, regardless of their political affiliation. According to PAN spokesman Jorge Triana, the party already has more than 5,000 people registered for its internal processes. It is important to clarify that this initial registration does not define candidates and does not guarantee a nomination from the party. To register, interested parties must go to the official PAN website or app, select the desired position, upload a copy of their voting credential (INE), and complete a form with personal data. The party offers various elected positions, including governorships, federal and local deputy seats, as well as mayoralties and regidurías. This process serves as an initial filter to identify interested individuals and build a pool of candidates. Following registration, there will be a screening process to reduce the number of participants to the most viable profiles. PAN reserves the right of admission to determine which profiles will continue in the process.
