“Neither by land, nor by air, nor by sea”, stated Johnson. The presence of the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier in the waters of the Mexican Pacific has raised a red flag regarding regional security, as it is part of U.S. naval maneuvers aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation against threats such as drug trafficking, arms trafficking, and human trafficking. The U.S. aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, accompanied by ships from the U.S. Navy's Fourth Fleet, is conducting navigation operations and maneuvers off the coast of the Mexican Pacific as part of international security cooperation activities. According to information from the U.S. Embassy in Mexico, these actions are part of a joint strategy aimed at strengthening collaboration between the two countries against common threats such as drug trafficking, illegal arms trafficking, and human trafficking. U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson stated that the presence of the Nimitz reflects a bilateral relationship based on trust and coordinated work between governments. “This visit underscores the continuous collaboration between our countries and demonstrates a firm commitment to the security and stability of the hemisphere,” he stated in a communiqué. As part of these actions, representatives from the Mexican secretariats of the Navy, National Defense, and Foreign Affairs visited the aircraft carrier, along with the U.S. ambassador. Authorities highlighted that this type of exercise strengthens operational coordination and the exchange of capabilities between armed forces. The U.S. Embassy emphasized that these activities respond to a shared security approach in the region, promoted by both governments. In this context, the diplomat affirmed that the cooperation seeks to close the gaps for the operation of criminal groups. “Together we are stronger and criminals will have nowhere to hide.”
