Tatiana Clouthier, a former member of the National Action Party (PAN) and now with MORENA, has accepted that she aspires to the governorship of Nuevo León and assured that she has “the greatest chances of winning”.
“I am interested in registering in MORENA’s poll in June,” she stated in an interview with René Delgado for the program EntreDichos on El Financiero Bloomberg.
The former Secretary of Economy in the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador and current head of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad, affirmed that “I am the one with the best chance to pull votes to win Nuevo León, to build networks; I am a reliable woman, I have lived the '4T' movement and I have a lot to contribute.”
She added that her “hand does not tremble” because she “knows the state better than anyone.”
Although, she noted, “the one who will decide will be the electorate.”
Nevertheless, she clarified that “remaining independent has been beneficial for everyone,” as she is not registered as a militant in MORENA.
She explained that “in 2005 I left the PAN, that is human behavior, and since 2012 I joined and I truly believe in the project of Andrés Manuel López Obrador; then I join Claudia Sheinbaum's project because I have a lot to contribute.”
Clouthier assures that Regios want Sheinbaum
She admitted that, being in the opposition in that state, “it is an uphill battle in an election campaign,” but she trusts that “Claudia Sheinbaum's popularity in Nuevo León is between 75% and 82%, with her the vote that López Obrador obtained grew; the doctor is seen very well in the polls, despite the problems with the United States.”
The challenges in the 'regia' entity, she said, are the “serious pollution” and mobility, which “is a mess.”
Tatiana Clouthier speaks of her opponents for Nuevo León
Of her opponents, she commented that Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas, from MC, “did a terrible job as mayor of Monterrey,” and Mariana Rodríguez, wife of current Governor Samuel García, is a professional influencer and people do not want the perpetuation of power in the family.
