The Government of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga will implement a package of public works as part of the 2026 participatory budget, after the public chose 10 priority projects focused on road infrastructure, public spaces, and services. This mechanism allowed taxpayers to vote on interventions to be carried out during the year, as part of a citizen participation strategy in decision-making on the use of public resources.
Interventions in main thoroughfares Among the selected projects is the rehabilitation of Avenida Jesús Michel González, one of the main connecting routes in the municipality. 'The last of the actions corresponds to the Jesús Michel González roadway, which, as we all know, runs north to south through the entire municipality, connecting us with a lot of areas, the Valles area, San Sebastián, the head area, and which currently presents several deficiencies in its pavement. We are also going to work on superficial and deep potholes in some areas and we are going to generate striping throughout its extension,' shared the director of public works projects, architect Antonio Legaspi.
Likewise, the intervention of the Las Moras road, in the Bosques de Santa Anita area, is contemplated.
Works in public spaces and services The program includes the rehabilitation of plazas, parks, and community spaces, as well as educational and emergency response infrastructure. Among the planned actions is the second stage of the López Mateos emergency module, which will integrate fire department, medical, security, and mobility services. The restrooms of the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río school will also be intervened to improve the conditions of the campus.
