According to sources consulted by LPO, both officials close to the president have activated a series of tours and political meetings with local structures in recent weeks, with the objective of strengthening the presence of the ruling party and ordering the internal affairs ahead of the new electoral cycle. Efraín Morales López, at the head of the National Water Commission (Conagua), and Carlos Augusto Morales López, who serves as Sheinbaum's private secretary and manages her daily agenda, function as a political tandem with direct access to the presidential office. According to the sources consulted, the meetings had an organizational character, and also aimed to align structures and send signals of control within the party. It is not the first time that their influence generates internal tensions. Previously, their role in building spaces within the party and in promoting allied profiles had already raised questions among leaders who feel displaced from decision-making.
