Former director of the National Commission on Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE), Ana Gabriela Guevara, has once again become the center of public attention after she was allegedly spotted on vacation at an exclusive resort belonging to the Vidanta Group in the United States. Images and reports circulating on social media show the former official enjoying her stay, which has drawn criticism due to corruption allegations that marked her tenure at the sports agency during the Andrés Manuel López Obrador administration. Vacation Amidst the Controversy Guevara's appearance at a resort linked to the Vidanta tourism group did not go unnoticed, especially given the political and business context surrounding this company, which has been pointed out by journalistic investigations for its closeness to the previous federal government. This has sparked questions on social media, where users criticize that, despite the allegations against her, the former official continues to lead a lifestyle without apparent legal consequences. Allegations of Misappropriation at CONADE During her tenure, Guevara's administration was marked by multiple audits and complaints of alleged irregularities in the handling of public funds. The Superior Audit of the Federation detected inconsistencies in the use of money earmarked for sports, which led to several complaints filed with the Attorney General's Office. In various audits alone, observations accumulated for over 500 million pesos that have not been fully clarified. Additionally, the ASF presented at least three complaints for irregularities and possible acts of corruption. Among the accusations are mentioned irregular contracts, possible bribes, and improper handling of resources destined for athletes. No Sanctions So Far Despite the magnitude of the allegations, to date, no sentence or definitive sanction against Guevara has been reported. At different times, even CONADE itself rejected the existence of formal investigations against her, pointing out erroneous interpretations of audits. However, the case continues to be one of the most mentioned when speaking of alleged irregularities within the previous government.
