Luisa Alcalde Denies Rumors of Leaving Morena Leadership

Luisa Alcalde, the leader of Morena, stated that she is an "extraordinary woman, the truth is, she is very hardworking, in the movement she is a young woman who made Morena youth with a lot of conviction".

Regarding rumors and calumnies, Alcalde said: "For my part, I will continue at the forefront of Morena and the only reason why I would leave this responsibility, as any of our movement would, would be for a call from the president to help her continue strengthening the transformation".

Esthela Damián is considering taking a leave of absence to go to Guerrero, and Luisa María could succeed her. At the end of her message, she thanked the words of recognition given this Monday by President Claudia Sheinbaum herself during her morning press conference at the National Palace, where she assured that she "recognizes a lot" the work of Luisa María Alcalde.

Faced with the information about her alleged departure, the leader Luisa María Alcalde ruled out that she is going to abandon the national leadership of Morena and clarified that the only reason why she would leave the position would be for a direct call from President Claudia Sheinbaum.

"For weeks, the right has not stopped spreading rumors and calumnies," Alcalde began in a recording of a little over a minute shared on her social networks, where - as revealed by LPO - she referred to the presumed arrival of the Secretary of Well-being, Ariadna Montiel, while Alcalde could become the new head of the Presidency Advisory Council instead of Esthela Damián, who would seek the governorship of Guerrero in 2027.

"That if the president is unhappy with the party leadership, that there are divisions and fights, that there are bad results or bad management, and finally, as always, resorting to machismo and saying that from Palenque they are about to give a slap on the table," she said.

Although she acknowledged that "it's not surprising either", in her opinion "the lion thinks that everyone is of his kind, but none of that".

"In Morena we have a strong and united movement," she added. "They are the new generation."
