
During the event, members of the Judiciary stated that the Government shows concern over the resources that have been promoted against the reform of the judicial system. They expressed that the president is communicating with the party and federal and state legislators, which indicates doubts about the security of the reform. This comes after the National Electoral Institute confirmed that the election for the Judiciary is on hold, awaiting a decision on whether to apply the suspensions filed against the constitutional reform.
In relation to this, the president Claudia Sheinbaum mentioned that judges have every right to hold morning conferences to inform about judicial cases and actions of resistance related to the judicial reform. She also suggested that it would be positive for judges to publicly explain the reasons behind their work stoppage and the collection of their salaries. She assured that workers of the Judiciary would not suffer impacts on their employment and that judges could run in the 2025 elections.
In the first "morning" session of the judges, they emphasized that the suspensions against the reform of the Judiciary, promoted by former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, will be supervised by courts to determine their validity. The judges responded to the refusal to halt the reform from the Government of Claudia Sheinbaum with the recommendation not to panic or worry if they are truly confident in the integrity of the reform.
