After the proposal for Arcelia María González González to assume the position of Secretary of Honesty in the state government, formerly known as the Transparency Unit, the State Congress ratified her. A meeting with the official is expected soon to learn about her work plan.
Arcelia held the position as interim director until receiving the ratification, making her the head of the agency responsible for transparency and accountability in the state government. Deputy Susana Bermúdez Cano explained that the absence was a measure adopted to respect the balance of powers and the law, since the legal requirements establish that it is only the Congress that must ratify the proposal, without the need for the official's presence.
For his part, deputy Rodrigo González Zaragoza from the MC party emphasized the importance of increasing the degree of dialogue in this balance of powers, indicating that the aim is not to be interviewers, but to strengthen communication. The appointment of the new Secretary of Honesty sparked debate in Congress, as some felt that the official should give a statement on her reasons for taking the position.
However, Arcelia has been in charge since the beginning of the current state administration as interim director.
