President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo celebrated during the morning conference the declarative action issued by the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Power (TEPJF) so that the National Electoral Institute (INE) continues with the organization of the election of judges and magistrates. In Palacio Nacional, Sheinbaum projected the INE's statement on the declarative action, approved by a divided decision by the Electoral Tribunal.
"Yesterday there were important news regarding the reform of the Judicial Power," said the governor, highlighting the importance of the resolution. Sheinbaum emphasized that the information available to her and her team indicates that the election continues without obstacles, as there is already a resolution from the Electoral Tribunal and a statement from the INE regarding this.
Regarding the judges who oppose the judicial reform and the declarative action, Sheinbaum stated that "there will be counselors that respond to the interests of the PRIAN or other interests, but there is a constitutional reform."
On Wednesday, the TEPJF determined that it is constitutionally unfeasible to suspend the electoral process to elect judges, magistrates, and ministers scheduled for next year. This was decided in a session after dozens of provisional suspensions issued by the Judicial Power.
The project of magistrate Felipe de la Mata Pizaña, backed by three votes in favor and two against, states that if the INE halts the organization, it would be violating what is stipulated by the Constitution following the approval of the judicial reform that has been in effect since September 15.
In favor of the project voted the president magistrate of the electoral tribunal, Mónica Soto Fregoso, and magistrates Felipe Fuentes Barrera and Felipe de la Mata Pizaña, while against voted magistrate Janine Otálora Malassis and magistrate Reyes Rodríguez Mondragón.
