The governor of Guanajuato, Libia Denise García Muñoz Ledo, announced an operation following two explosions in Acámbaro and Jerécuaro, emphasizing the priority of pacification in the region.

In Guanajuato, the municipalities of Acámbaro and Jerécuaro were targeted by criminal attacks on security forces, prompting a response from Governor Libia Denise García Muñoz Ledo. Images of burned stores and firefighters working on cleanup tasks were shared on social media.

The governor stated on her social media that the priority for Guanajuato is pacification and that a ground and air operation with the State Public Security Forces was deployed in support of the municipal police, Sedena, and the National Guard. The governor's public activity schedule was suspended to convene a security meeting with the mayors of Acámbaro and Jerécuaro, Sedena, the National Guard, and state and federal prosecutors.

For their part, elements of the National Guard urged the population to stay away from the area to avoid risks while debris removal and investigations are conducted at the sites affected by the attacks.

Videos were shared on social media showing the explosion of a patrol car in Jerécuaro and a car bomb in Acámbaro, showing the damaged Public Security facilities and astonished neighbors witnessing the destruction caused by the attacks. A neighbor recorded the damage in Acámbaro, expressing her concern for safety in the area and the possible dangers to which she and her daughters were exposed. The situation generated alarm and dismay among the population, which expects effective measures to restore peace in the region.
