
Joining the list of locations affected by organized crime violence was Tecpan de Galeana, where a new armed group entered in the early morning of Thursday, October 24, unleashing a wave of confrontations and gunfire. Surveillance cameras captured the entry of vehicles belonging to this armed group, images that were later spread on social media.
After receiving a report through the emergency number 911, local authorities quickly mobilized to address the situation in Tecpan de Galeana and provide assistance to the community. Amid the vandalism, the Secretary of Public Security of the state of Guerrero highlighted the importance of taking measures to combat insecurity in the region.
In a video released by the hitmen themselves, they identified as an independent armed group and warned the population through a recorded message. Additionally, they urged residents to avoid walking the streets after certain hours to prevent accidents involving innocent people.
As a result of the confrontations, several members of the municipal police lost their lives. The sounds of gunfire and detonations were recorded by residents in videos that circulated online, showing columns of smoke generated by the explosions in the area.
Following the events, authorities reported that they managed to detain six criminals and kill three more, all belonging to this new criminal group identified as Guerrero Nueva Generación (GNG). The vehicles abandoned by the hitmen revealed the letters "GNG" on the side doors, allowing for their identification.
