The governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, has firmly rejected the idea of resigning from his position despite admitting that his government is facing the influence of organized crime in the state. Rocha Moya emphasized that the situation in Sinaloa is not new and that they have previously requested the intervention of the Attorney General's Office to investigate cases related to crime.
In response to direct questions about his resignation, the governor maintained that he remains steadfast in his position and is addressing the difficult situation faced by the state for the benefit of the people of Sinaloa, dismissing calls for his resignation as baseless wishes. Rocha Moya also mentioned that the problem worsened since the arrest of 'El Mayo' Zambada at the end of July, but refrained from commenting on the conclusions of the authorities' investigations.
During his visit to the Chamber of Deputies and the Mexican Senate, the governor rejected the existence of excesses in the actions of the military forces in Sinaloa. He highlighted the importance of evaluating each case individually to ensure the respect of human rights by the Armed Forces. Additionally, Rocha Moya met with deputies affiliated with the 4T as a show of support for his management, where he emphasized the need to work together to face the current challenges in Sinaloa.
