The LXI local Legislature continues to work to represent the interests of the people, as affirmed by a representative, stating that they are within the legal timeframe to carry out decisive actions on various decisions assigned to the legislative committees.
In response to criticisms suggesting that the legislature is paralyzed, it was highlighted that the deputies have been actively participating in events, presenting initiatives, and fulfilling their legislative responsibilities. A second plenary session is anticipated to discuss important topics, such as modifications to the Civil Code and the voting on the integration of the committees.
Accusations of pressure from external political actors were rejected, defending that any obstacle to legislative progress is due to the lack of will from some sectors. It was emphasized that, despite the difficulties, the legislature continues to operate in accordance with the Organic Law and will seek to advance in the coming days.
The importance of providing the representation required by the citizens who voted for the deputies was underscored, emphasizing transparency and legislative accountability. Despite differences among the coordinators of the majority factions, it was highlighted that new legislative initiatives continue to be presented, demonstrating that there is no legislative paralysis.
The president of the Directing Board revealed that more than 35 initiatives have been presented since the beginning of the legislature, which have not yet been assigned to committees for review. It was emphasized that the active participation of legislators demonstrates that the legislature is functioning and continues to work for the benefit of society.
