Sheinbaum Criticizes Opponent in Judicial Reform Debate

The president of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, spoke out against businessman Claudio X. González, whom she described as a "toxic junior" seeking to "command the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation" amid the controversy over the judicial reform. Sheinbaum criticized the businessman’s actions, who has spread the idea that the reform threatens the rule of law and represents a risk of dictatorship or authoritarian government.

The mayor defended the reform, stating that it does not threaten the rule of law but seeks to maintain privileges. Sheinbaum even mentioned that Claudio X. González's father met with her and other businessmen at the National Palace, expressing happiness and optimism about the country's future.

On the other hand, Sheinbaum referred to her daughter's work in "Mexicans Against Corruption," responding to accusations of illegal financing from former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Sheinbaum also pointed out that Claudio X. González, by targeting the PRIAN, contributed to the worst election performance of both parties in the political history of the country, which, from her perspective, leads him to seek to lead the Supreme Court, something she considers inappropriate.

In her words, "this character, the toxic junior, let each person decide who to associate with."
