Renewal in Morena after elections

After achieving a victory in the state, many figures from the ruling party have opted to leave the party and join the government. The newly appointed president of Morena, Luisa María Alcalde, is preparing the publication of details and calls for the coming days, as part of the renewal that will take place. This renewal will occur amidst the enrollment operation of ten million people announced by the national leadership this week, taking advantage of Morena's legislative representation in San Lázaro and the Senate.

Luisa María Alcalde has led meetings in different states of the country and is calling on federal legislative representatives to renew the local party committees where necessary. It is expected that next week the calls will be made public for local committees to renew their authorities, through the state councils of Morena in each district.

After the elections in June, Morena is preparing for a strong renewal of its local forces. In some regions, such as the capital, new leaders will need to be appointed due to the departure of prominent figures to the federal government. The task of organizing this renewal process falls on Luisa María Alcalde as president and Lourdes Paz as general secretary, who assumed the role of mayor of Iztacalco. Victories in Mexico City and Yucatán have generated a mobility of leaders towards local governments.

In Yucatán, for example, a nearly total election of the party positions is anticipated due to these departures to the government. In this context, it is acknowledged within the party that the task of reorganization will not be simple and that the details and mechanisms to form the new leadership will need to be established in the coming weeks.
