In the MC contest with the Front, he is classified as a neutral and non-confrontational actor, which aligns with Governor Samuel García's task of maintaining harmony with the PRI-PAN in the next two years before the next elections. However, there is some fear among some MC actors due to the ties that Martínez Ríos and his father maintain with one of the top PAN operators, Raúl Gracia.
Martínez Ríos is hastening lobbying to land in the state leadership of MC, whose definition is expected between December and January. Some believe this could affect the upcoming contest, especially given the possible dispute between the PRI-PAN Front and Morena for the governorship. It is noteworthy that Martínez Montemayor was a PAN member before switching to MC a few years ago, becoming a key actor in the north of the metropolis.
In the Palace of Cantera, they haven't ruled out the possibilities of Secretary Martha Herrera, a central figure in the cabinet and of all the governor's trust. Herrera's option aligns with Dante Delgado's recommendation, who backed the governor and suggested that the leadership should go to a woman.
In the governor's environment, they are looking for a profile of absolute alignment for the leadership. They consider that, based on Samuel's approval, a competitive project can be generated for 2027. One detail to note is that Martínez Ríos visited the MC offices this Tuesday to address the issue of leadership change, but found no one there to receive him.
From the blue and white party, some leaders have expressed their regret at the departure of Martínez Ríos and his father from the PAN, recalling the achievements made in Pesquería and other municipalities where they had a base.
