Potro Caballero mentioned a "great star" who had a "setback" in her career and described her as "nymphomaniac", which led several users to associate his words with Belinda as well as Alejandra Guzmán.
In his public apology, Potro Caballero regretted having contributed to unfounded speculation about Belinda, explaining that at no time was he specifically referring to her. Despite not mentioning the singer's name at any moment, conjectures on social media pointed towards Belinda, who has not responded to the comments from the former reality show participant.
Potro Caballero's comments received criticism from users, who felt that his words promoted sexist and offensive discourse against women. In his apology post, the former member tagged Belinda, but the singer chose not to respond and instead has focused on promoting her new song in collaboration with Kenia Os.
