The Attorney General's Office (FGR) reported that for the past 10 weeks, the government of the United States has not provided the requested information regarding the kidnapping of Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada. Despite Ambassador Ken Salazar's statement that information exchange had begun, the FGR has yet to receive a response to its requests.
In a recent press conference, the FGR stated that it will continue to wait for the requested information since last August. It was mentioned that there are sufficient elements to take the case to court, and the crime of aggravated kidnapping due to violence was confirmed, as well as the crime of treason for illegally depriving a person of their liberty on national territory to deliver them to another country.
Regarding the case of the elected federal deputy Héctor Nemesio Cuén Ojeda, whose death was attempted to be passed off as an assault at a gas station, the FGR continues its investigations. Evidence of his blood was found at the location where Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada was reportedly kidnapped, who mentioned having met with him in a letter.
The U.S. authorities have been requested, through INTERPOL and with the help of International Legal Assistance, for information about an aircraft that transported Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada and Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán. However, no migratory, customs, or aeronautical documents for the three individuals on board have been received, nor is the identity of the pilot or their certification known.
The FGR emphasized that all this documentation is crucial to clarify the facts and determine the legality of the situation.
