PAN Expels Miguel Ángel Yunes Family from Party

The National Action Party (PAN) unanimously decided to expel Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez and his father, Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares, for showing support for Morena's initiatives and voting in favor of the judicial reform. The decision was communicated by PAN member Marisol Vargas Bárcena, who explained that the expulsion was approved unanimously by the party's Order Commission.

A brief statement reads: “The decision has been made to expel Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez and Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares from the party.” PAN argued that the measure was adopted after careful analysis that aligns with the party's principles and norms, with the goal of preserving integrity, values, and respect for decisions that strengthen unity and commitment to citizenship.

Jorge Romero, the next leader of PAN, had previously warned that the Yunes could challenge their expulsion. In this regard, he indicated that the Yunes are in favor of Morena's initiatives despite belonging to the opposition, an opinion shared by some PAN members. Romero mentioned that this situation was evident, as the direction of their vote was clear.

On the other hand, PAN expressed its commitment to work for the benefit of society in accordance with its principles, reaffirming its unity and adherence to the values that characterize National Action. The expulsion of the Yunes was based on the need to maintain the party's integrity and its commitment to citizenship, acting in accordance with institutional norms.
