The president counselor of the National Electoral Institute (INE), Guadalupe Taddei, reported that the organization of the judicial election will resume on November 20. She indicated that they have an adjusted schedule to carry out this process.
The INE halted the organization of the judicial election due to hundreds of provisional suspensions issued by federal judges who are reviewing cases related to rights violations arising from the judicial reform. Despite the Supreme Court deciding not to delve into the unconstitutionality action discussed on November 5 and the opinion issued by the Electoral Tribunal regarding the powers of the INE, these cases remain active.
Regarding this issue, Taddei mentioned that legal work is already underway to dismiss all suspensions, and she anticipated that they will present appeals before the Electoral Tribunal and the Supreme Court itself.
In her words: "Some legal work is advancing in parallel; we have already initiated the request for dismissal of all received appeals; that has already been completed. There will be other activities that will need to be carried out, such as returning to the Electoral Tribunal, making a call to the Judiciary Council, and an approach with the Supreme Court of Justice is also being considered."
