The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, plans to propose the worldwide implementation of the 'Sembrando Vida' program during the G20 Leaders' Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the 'Mañanera del Pueblo', Sheinbaum highlighted that 2.7 trillion dollars are allocated to arms purchases globally. Therefore, she will seek at the G20 Summit to redirect a portion of that budget towards the 'Sembrando Vida' program, which positively impacts the reduction of migration and carbon capture.

In her words: “Our participation is related to building peace in the world, the environment, and reducing poverty.” Sheinbaum emphasized the proposal to allocate resources to global programs, suggesting that 'Sembrando Vida' should benefit. This program, which received nearly 39 billion pesos in Mexico for 500,000 families, contributes to carbon capture, the restoration of the social fabric, and the reduction of migration.

On the other hand, the president has a busy agenda during the G20 Summit. She will participate in two sessions: the first will focus on the “Fight against hunger and poverty,” and the second on the “Reform of global governance institutions.” Additionally, she will be present at the launch of the “Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty,” of which Mexico will be one of the founding countries. Following her participation, Sheinbaum will return to Mexico on November 19 for events related to the commemoration of the Mexican Revolution.

As for the G20, it is composed of the 19 largest economies in the world, the European Union, and the African Union. The Summit will also feature the presence of 18 invited countries from all regions, making it a conducive space for dialogue with key global partners.
