The producer of the play 'Little Red Riding Hood: What's up with your grandmother?', Iván Cochegrus, was sued by the Rafael Banquells Association due to allegations of embezzlement within the association. Enrique Selvas, the president of the association, announced legal actions against him after Cochegrus disseminated this information.
In an interview with Max Lumbia, Enrique Selvas Carrola explained that the allegations of embezzlement were unfounded and that Cochegrus had defamed the association. Selvas pointed out that neither Silvia Pinal nor president Amparo Garrido were removed; rather, he took over the position due to the advanced age of both and a decision made in an assembly with the members of the association.
According to Selvas, both Sylvia Pasquel and Alejandra Guzmán attempted to intervene in association matters in which they had no authority, and when they were denied, they joined the smear campaign promoted by Cochegrus. As a consequence, Selvas announced that he would undertake legal actions against the theater producer.
In the interview, Selvas also mentioned that Silvia Pinal's signature had been forged in recent years, which caused problems with contributions from benefactors, including Televisa, and even the cancellation of the Bravo Awards, intended to raise funds for the foundation’s benefactors. Despite this, Selvas emphasized that he would not sue Silvia Pinal's daughters for their negative comments towards the association in order not to harm the 93-year-old actress.
The president of the Rafael Banquells Association informed that next week he will issue a press release detailing the lawsuit against Iván Cochegrus and clarifying the misunderstandings surrounding the management of the association.
