Nuevo León Strengthens Security on Highways

To reinforce security on the highways of Nuevo León, a new highway surveillance division of Fuerza Civil has been created, which will have more than 600 personnel and new patrols. The announcement was made by Gerardo Escamilla, head of the State Public Security Secretariat. This division will be responsible for monitoring the State Highway Network of Nuevo León and will provide support to the National Guard in monitoring federal roads, such as the highways to Reynosa, Nuevo Laredo, and Matehuala.

At a recent event, Escamilla mentioned the graduation of 120 new police officers specifically trained for highway surveillance in Nuevo León, thereby strengthening the Muralla Operation. The official emphasized the importance of this reinforcement in light of situations like the robbery of a family at the border with Tamaulipas, where armed individuals were reported. In response, the presence of personnel in the area was immediately increased to prevent similar incidents in the state.

The head of Fuerza Civil highlighted the coordinated and efficient reaction of the authorities in response to a vehicle theft last Saturday. Through aerial and ground actions, control of the entire road stretch was achieved, keeping the area under surveillance and secured. The main objective is to guarantee coverage and total presence in Nuevo León, so that citizens feel protected at all times.

For greater security, travelers were invited to use the Colombia-Nuevo Laredo Bridge in Anáhuac, which is monitored by Fuerza Civil and facilitates crossing into Texas without leaving Nuevo León. With these measures and coordinated work between state and federal authorities, the goal is to maintain order and security on the highways and roads of the region.
