Young player Luka Romero has made his first statements as a member of Cruz Azul in Mexico, revealing details about his arrival at the cement team. Despite having other offers, such as from Chivas in Liga MX, Romero decided to join Cruz Azul feeling good vibes from the sports project presented by Iván and Martín.
"Yes, I obviously had offers from several teams, but when Iván and Martín called me I felt very good vibes. They explained everything to me and the sports project that I liked a lot. Now I am very happy to be here," said the cement midfielder. The speed with which his signing took place surprised many, considering the previous negotiations with Chivas.
Romero also revealed that his goal at Cruz Azul is to develop properly to eventually return to European football and then make a decision about his national team, having the option to choose between Spain, Argentina, and Mexico. "I am grateful to have three nationalities, but now I am focused on Cruz Azul, I want to perform at my best and then I will make a decision with my family and my representative, but first I want to perform at Cruz Azul," he emphasized.
Romero is expected to make his debut with Cruz Azul in the next match against Puebla at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario during matchday three.
