Julio César Chávez Speaks on TV Cursing and Retirement

Julio César Chávez retired from boxing in 2005, but remained involved in the sport by working as a sports commentator. During TV broadcasts, the Mexican boxer often uses profanity, although he claims to have permission to do so. Chávez has had experiences with drug traffickers, celebrities like Michael Jackson, and feels liberated to express himself without restrictions while commenting on boxing matches on television.

In an interview, Julio César Chávez explained that he has the freedom to speak as he wishes on the television he works for, even promoting his clinics. According to Chávez, during a dinner, the 'boss' of the company granted him permission to use explicit language during his commentary, something that others could not do.

The former Mexican boxing champion mentioned that he enjoys his job as a commentator, as it has helped him in his recovery process and prevents him from relapsing into his addictions. However, Chávez expressed his desire to retire from TV broadcasts soon, as at 62 years old he feels tired of constantly traveling. He prefers to focus on supporting people through his addiction clinics, considering leisure as a danger that could lead him back to drug use.
