Amid a scandal related to illegal betting, former Real Apodaca goalkeeper Marco Valdez has denied the accusations against him. In an interview with journalist David Faitelson, Valdez categorically stated that he did not receive any payment for manipulating matches, and expressed his desire to no longer be mentioned, as he fears for his safety and that of his family.
On the other hand, Francisco Tede, a footballer who received a 16-year sanction due to his involvement in match-fixing for the benefit of sports betting, has also spoken on the subject. After breaking his silence through a video on social media, Tede asked to be left alone and expressed his concern for his personal safety.
Tede, who previously played for Correcaminos de la UAT in the Expansion League, was suspended for two years for his involvement in illicit activities related to sports betting. In the published video, the footballer emphasized that he did not receive any money for his participation in these acts and requested that the speculation regarding him cease.
