New Reinforcement Rule for 2025 Club World Cup

The next edition of the Club World Cup in 2025 has generated a revolution in Liga MX, with participating teams betting on signings that have had global repercussions. James Rodríguez has joined León, while Sergio Ramos has arrived in Monterrey, but they may not be the only ones to surprise, as a new rule has been proposed.

According to Javier Aguirre, the Mexican National Team Coach, teams will be able to incorporate up to six reinforcements to their rosters for the tournament. This measure aims to allow teams to specifically strengthen themselves for the international competition, following a system similar to that used in the Copa Libertadores in the past.

The 2025 Club World Cup will feature an expanded format of 32 teams and a rule that will allow clubs to bring up to six players from other teams exclusively for the duration of the tournament. This move has generated excitement among fans, who are already speculating about possible signings and unusual lineups.

The final regulations will be established at a meeting in Miami on March 23, although the information has already been disclosed to the clubs. This initiative aims to strengthen the lineups of the participating teams and open new opportunities in the temporary transfer market.

"We opened a window to sign players, up to six footballers can be brought by the participating teams, which could affect the availability of players for the National Team," stated Javier Aguirre. This measure intends to give teams the opportunity to have additional talent for the tournament without affecting the domestic competition.

The 2025 Club World Cup will be held from June 15 to July 13 in the United States, and this new rule is expected to bring excitement and innovation to the tournament, allowing Mexican teams and those on an international level to explore new strategies and temporary talents for the prestigious championship.
