The relationship between UNAM Pumas and Dani Alves did not end well, as the Brazilian left the club stranded after he was imprisoned in Barcelona, Spain, due to a sexual assault allegation. More than two years after that event, in recent hours, 365 Scores Mexico revealed that the university team has filed a million-dollar lawsuit against the former Brazilian player.
The lawsuit was filed with the CAS, with breach of contract and violation of internal regulations being the reasons. Pumas would demand $3 million in damages plus $2 million for regulatory violation, totaling $5 million, which is 102 million Mexican pesos at the exchange rate of March 5.
The hearing of the case between the auriazul team and Dani Alves is scheduled for March 25, with the case number "CAS2024/A/10733." It is important to mention that the Brazilian joined Pumas as a blockbuster signing for Apertura 2022, after completing his six-month contract with FC Barcelona. His arrival in Mexican football generated high expectations, thanks to his past in elite clubs such as Juventus, PSG, and Barcelona.
A woman accused him of sexually assaulting her in a nightclub in the Catalonia capital in December 2022. Although Dani Alves was released from prison after 14 months, he will face a sentence of four and a half years on probation, thanks to paying a bail of one million euros. In fact, when he arrived in Liga MX, he was the player with the most titles in the history of football, boasting three Champions League titles and one Copa America.
Unfortunately, the Brazilian's adventure in Mexico did not end as he expected, as a lawsuit completely changed his life.
