The Sinaloan goalkeeper expressed his desire to respect the club he represents and to be ready to seize any opportunity that arises. In the latest chapter of the trilogy between America and Chivas, two of the three scheduled matches have been played. So far, Chivas has the advantage with the first leg in the Concachampions and the recent draw in Liga MX.

Rodolfo Cota had the opportunity to face Chivas in the National Classic, a match where both teams failed to score and left everything for the Concachampions duel. Despite the neutrality in the score, Cota highlighted the importance of respecting America, the club he currently represents.

In his statements, Cota mentioned the reception from the Chivas fans when facing his former team in the National Classic. Although he would have liked to achieve victory, the goalkeeper remained calm after the draw in a tough match. Remembering his time at Chivas, where he won league and cup titles, Cota emphasized the importance of showing respect to the clubs he is part of.

Now, the Eagles are preparing to host the rojiblancos in Mexico City. The team led by André Jardine needs a victory to advance to the quarter-finals and aspire to a spot in the Club World Cup in the next edition. The fans, for their part, have not forgiven Cota for his team switch, as they expressed in the stands.

After the scoreless draw, Cota was happy for the opportunity to play with America and spoke about the experience of facing his former club at the Akron Stadium.
