Regarding the possible return of Checo Pérez, for now, the Mexican driver has not made a public statement about it. However, his father mentioned that he could return by 2026 if offered a good project, as he will only compete if he has a chance to be world champion.

The hopes of the Mexican fans to see Sergio "Checo" Pérez in Formula 1 are rising again, as Cadillac's presence in the series for next year was recently confirmed. The Guadalajara native left Red Bull due to a poor 2024 season, finishing eighth in the drivers' championship after 14 uninterrupted years in the Grand Circus. Nevertheless, Checo's return seems closer than ever, as according to Diario Marca, he is in talks with Cadillac to return to the tracks in 2026.
Additionally, images of keychains featuring the Mexican flag with the logo of the American team started circulating on social media, which could be interpreted as a sign that next year the Mexican driver will be competing in the highest category of motorsport. However, it is important to mention that this is not official merchandise of the team.
Graeme Lowdon, director of Cadillac, has fueled speculation about Checo Pérez's arrival by mentioning that they need someone with experience and sufficient merits to be part of the team. "We definitely select based on merit. Formula 1 is not a playground, it is the pinnacle of world motorsport," Lowdon pointed out.
