Sergio Checo Pérez Nears F1 Return with Cadillac

Driver Sergio Checo Pérez is close to returning to Formula 1 with the new team Cadillac. His former boss Christian Horner shared his opinion on the possibility of seeing the Mexican on the grid next year. Despite not having a very highlighted performance last season, Horner emphasized Checo's experience and winning spirit, stating that it would be positive to have him back in competition.

"Obviously for Checo, it was a tough year last, but it's good to see that a possible return is being discussed. He is someone with a lot of experience and is a true winner. It would be good to see him back on the grid," Horner mentioned to Fox Sports, highlighting Pérez's potential contribution to the new F1 team.

Last weekend, during the Miami Grand Prix, Cadillac officially presented its image to compete in Formula 1 starting in 2026. Although many expected the announcement of Checo Pérez as the main driver, this did not happen, generating some disappointment among the press and fans. However, in recent weeks, it has emerged that Pérez is in negotiations with the American team, which has expressed interest in having the Mexican driver on its roster. The signing is expected to be finalized by the end of May or June, although other teams are also mentioned as being interested in Checo's services.
