Panamanian footballer Adalberto Carrasquilla has reported to training with his club UNAM Pumas ahead of the 2026 Clausura tournament. Carrasquilla will aim to maintain the consistency he showed in the Apertura, where he was a starter in 14 of 17 matches, to continue being a regular for his national team that will participate in next year's World Cup. Pumas are coached by 37-year-old manager Efraín Juárez, who had a successful debut on the bench with Colombian Atlético Nacional, leading them to win the Cup and the league in 2024. Juárez, who came through the club's youth ranks as a player, has been in charge of the team since March 2025. In that same tournament, the team was eliminated in the playoffs, so for this Clausura, his mission will be to guide his team to the Liguilla for the first time. The 26-player squad will be in Acapulco until next Saturday. Pumas will debut in the Clausura on January 11th at home against Querétaro. They will host champions Toluca on March 3rd for the ninth matchday and play their city derby, also at home, against América on the 21st of the same month for the twelfth matchday.
