The Government of Mexico has announced the winners of the National Sports Award for this year. María José Alcalá continues to lead the Mexican Olympic Committee and has expressed her gratitude for the support provided by companies like Herbalife, which also awarded prizes to the medalists of Paris 2024.

Through a joint effort, they have managed to gather resources to promote the development of Mexican sports, according to Alcalá. Rommel Pacheco, president of Conade, committed to working in unity with the head of COM for the benefit of national sports.

Four Olympic and Paralympic medalists have been highlighted on the National Sports Award list. Osmar Olvera and Juan Celaya in diving, Prisca Awiti in judo, and Marco Verde in boxing received recognition in the non-professional category. However, despite the fact that the women's archery team also won a bronze medal, some members were not considered for the award.

In the different categories of the award, athletes like shot putter Gloria Zarza and sprinter Juan Pablo Cervantes, as well as prominent football players and coaches, are included. Personalities such as Alejandra Orozco, Daniel Aceves, and Katia Itzel García, who served as a referee in women's Mexican football, will also be honored.

The National Sports Award ceremony is scheduled for November 20, where the winners will receive a diploma, a rosette, and a financial incentive of 796 thousand pesos. This recognition highlights the effort, work, and dedication of each of the awardees in the sports field.
