Nacho Ambriz Leaves Santos as Head Coach

Club Santos announced the departure of Ignacio "Nacho" Ambriz and his coaching staff, thanking them for their dedication and commitment, wishing them success in their future professional challenges. The Sports Committee of the institution is in the process of defining the new coaching staff that will lead the Warriors in 2025.

Nacho Ambriz took over as head coach of the Laguna team in February 2024, replacing Pablo Repetto. During his brief tenure, Santos did not achieve notable results. In the Clausura 2024, they finished in fifteenth place with 15 points, and in the Apertura 2024, they ended up in last place in the standings, with only 10 points obtained from two victories, four draws, and 11 losses in total.

Ambriz managed a total of 31 matches with the Laguna team, achieving six victories, six draws, and 19 losses. Among the possible successors are Diego Cocca, Leandro Cufré, and Fernando Ortiz. Club Santos concluded their participation in the Apertura 2024 tournament of Liga MX last Friday, with the official news of Ignacio Ambriz's departure on November 11 as the team’s coach.

In the words of the club's statement: "We inform you that Ignacio Ambriz's stage as head coach of the first team has concluded. We are grateful for Nacho and his coaching staff’s dedication and commitment, and we wish them the utmost success in their upcoming professional challenges."
