Happy Checo Pérez Day: Celebrating the Mexican Driver

Mexican driver Checo Pérez revealed in a video that he has always used the number 11 and that even his email includes that number. Checo has been experiencing a crisis in results in Formula 1, accumulating 16 consecutive races without reaching the podium, despite using his traditional number 11 since 2014 when he was competing for Force India.

Sergio Pérez mentioned that the reason he carries the number 11 on his back is due to Iván Zamorano, his childhood idol and former Chilean football player who played for América. Despite unfavorable results in the 2024 season, since he joined Red Bull, Checo's popularity has increased significantly, making him one of the fan-favorite drivers in Formula 1.

Checo Pérez has managed to gather a large number of followers around the world, especially in Latin America, where he was the only representative from the region in F1 until the arrival of Franco Colapinto at Williams. His supporters have even designated November 11 as "Checo Pérez Day," despite it not coinciding with his birthday.

Despite the bad streak affecting his position in the championship and hurting Red Bull in the battle for the constructors' title, it is likely that Checo will remain with the team next year, as his sponsors bring significant profits to the Austrian team.
