David Martínez Aceves is a young doctor who has decided to take an unexpected turn in his professional career to enter the world of mixed martial arts. At just 26 years old, this resident physician at the General Hospital of Zone No.68 of IMSS in Tulpetlac, State of Mexico, has signed a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the leading company in this sport.
Despite temporarily leaving his career in medicine, David carries with him the passion and commitment that have led him to excel in both sports practice and his professional life. During his medical internship, he attended to patients with Covid-19 and seized his free moments to dedicate himself to mixed martial arts.
The young doctor recognizes that his love for sports led him to study medicine, aware of the importance of being able to assist people who suffer injuries or accidents. He believes that medicine and mixed martial arts have more similarities than people think, as both require commitment, dedication, and resilience.
Although he trains every day to prepare physically and mentally as a fighter, David does not rule out the possibility of returning to medicine in the future, and even dreams of specializing in some field. Despite the challenges and fatigue he has experienced, both in the medical and sports fields, the young man feels proud to have contributed to the well-being of people and to have grown both as a fighter and as a health professional.
