She added that this connection boosts tourism and continues to position Acapulco as one of the country's most important destinations. Acapulco and Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo gain air connectivity During the morning conference headed by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, in Mexico City, the general director of Mexicana de Aviación, General Leobardo Ávila Bojórquez, informed that this project is part of the airline's expansion for 2026, which contemplates the incorporation of three new destinations, including Acapulco. He also pointed out that Zihuatanejo is among the beach destinations where there is currently air connectivity through Mexicana de Aviación, strengthening Guerrero's presence within the national route network. Meanwhile, the director of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), General Isidoro Pastor Román, reported that this airport currently has 41 national and 5 international destinations, which includes the national route to Acapulco, consolidating its role as a strategic hub for connectivity in the country. The Government of Guerrero, through the state Secretariat of Tourism, maintains a permanent strategy of promotion and management to position destinations such as Acapulco and Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo in the preference of national and international markets.
