On the morning of April 13, a new tariff adjustment for the Autopista del Sol (Sun Highway) came into effect on the stretch connecting Mexico City to the port of Acapulco. According to Caminos y Puentes Federales de Ingresos y Servicios Conexos (CAPUFE), the total toll cost for cars increased from 788 to 826 pesos, representing an increase of 38 pesos per trip. According to the current tariff table, the fare from Mexico City to toll plaza number 104, located in La Venta, increased from 640 to 670 pesos. It is worth recalling that toll collection at several plazas on the Autopista del Sol was suspended due to damage caused by Hurricane 'John' in September 2024. However, service was resumed on March 22, 2025, once the technical-operational emergency concluded, with the reactivation of toll collection at plazas such as Paso Morelos, Palo Blanco, and La Venta. The Mexico-Acapulco price has gone up: What is the new cost of the toll booths on the Sun Highway? According to current rates, the valid costs are: 156 pesos at the Tlalpan toll booth, 56 pesos at Tres MarĂas, 209 pesos at Paso Morelos, 190 pesos at Palo Blanco, and 171 pesos at La Venta. With this adjustment, a round trip to Acapulco is estimated to cost an additional 76 pesos for private motorists. This adjustment adds to the increase applied at the beginning of the year when CAPUFE updated the rates starting in January 2025, with increases on different stretches of the highway, including the Paso Morelos-Puente de Ixtla segment, where the cost increased from 188 to 200 pesos. Cleaning is intensified in Acapulco's tourist areas. The Government of Acapulco continues its cleanup operation in various accesses to the beaches, with the objective of improving the conditions for residents and visitors. The coordinator of the department, Gustavo Radilla Callado, reported that during the Easter vacation season, around 12 beach accesses were attended to, actions that will continue in the coming days to keep these public spaces, as well as parks and recreation areas, in good condition. Among the tasks carried out at the Elcano beach access were painting planters, railings, and luminaries, as well as painting the perimeter wall. At the La Playita access, urban furniture was painted, including planters, curbs, walls, lampposts, and tubular structures. Fine and coarse sweeping, as well as solid waste collection and debris removal, were also carried out at the attended points, in order to maintain adequate cleanliness conditions in these areas.
