The governor of Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, inaugurated the Cultural Festival of Skulls 2024 at Isla San Marcos, highlighting cultural and artistic activities for the whole family.

The Governor of Aguascalientes, Tere Jiménez, led the official opening of the Cultural Festival of Calaveras 2024 at Isla San Marcos. During her visit, she toured the various pavilions and learned about the activities offered for the whole family, emphasizing that 90% of these are free.

"La Catrina was created here by Guadalupe Posada, an icon of the Day of the Dead; we are proud of our roots, which is why we are celebrating this festival in a big way; we will continue working to showcase our cultural wealth to all the people of Mexico and the world," the governor mentioned in her speech.

During the tour, Tere Jiménez and the authorities visited various pavilions such as Agroalimentario, DIF, Made in Ags, Catrina Forums, Alma Viva, Children's Pavilion, Bread Pavilion, among others, where various activities and showcases of products from local businesses and artisans are offered.

The Secretary of Tourism, Gloria Romo Cuesta, highlighted the teamwork among the different departments to make this festival possible, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary and features the participation of more than 400 exhibitors.

The General Director of the Cultural Institute of Aguascalientes, Alejandro Vázquez Zúñiga, mentioned the implementation of a cultural and artistic program in the city center, as well as bringing activities to other municipalities in the state for families to enjoy.

The Cultural Festival of Calaveras will conclude on November 3rd, and the complete program can be found on its official website. Various local political figures were present at the inauguration to celebrate this culturally significant event at both national and international levels.
