Mexican Federal Judge Issues Arrest Warrant for Crime Leader 'El Bótox'

In Mexico, a federal judge has placed the leader of the 'Los Blancos de Troya' crime group, known as 'El Bótox', under prosecution. He is accused of organized crime, extortion, and illegal weapons possession. The operation resulted in the seizure of narcotics and firearms. Authorities are combating criminality in the Tierra Caliente region.

A federal judge has placed César Alejandro “N”, alias “El Bótox”, under prosecution. Authorities identify him as the presumed leader of the criminal group Los Blancos de Troya, accused of generating violence in the Tierra Caliente region of Michoacán and acting as the armed wing of Los Viagras, with ties to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. During a hearing held via videoconference, Judge of Control Mario Elizondo Martínez, assigned to the Federal Criminal Justice Center in Almoloya de Juárez, State of Mexico, determined the linkage to process for the crimes of organized crime, against health in its modality of possession with commercial purposes, and carrying weapons exclusive to the Armed Forces. He also ordered a preventive prison warrant and granted a six-month period for complementary investigation. According to national media, during the hearing, “El Bótox” admitted to extorting the citrus sector in Tierra Caliente, Michoacán, and to being a member of the Los Blancos de Troya group. Alejandro “N”, approximately 40 years old, appeared remotely from the facilities of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO) in Mexico City, and will serve his sentence at the Federal Social Rehabilitation Center (CEFERESO) No. 1 “El Altiplano”. In the same criminal case, Eder “N”, identified as a bodyguard and close operator, was linked to process for organized crime, crimes against health, carrying weapons, and possession with commercial purposes, while Esteban “N”, also identified as a bodyguard, was prosecuted for crimes against health and carrying weapons. According to investigations, “El Bótox” led a criminal cell dedicated mainly to the extortion of yellow lemon producers in the communities of Cenobio Moreno, La Huina, Capiri, and El Razo, in the municipalities of Buenavista and Apatzingán. The arrest of “El Bótox” took place on January 22 in the municipality of Buenavista Tomatlán, Michoacán. During the operation, he attempted to flee along with two other men to a lemon cultivation area, but was located in a building used as a refuge. The operation involved elements of the Army, the National Guard, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), and the Michoacán State Attorney General's Office (FGE). At the scene, long-barreled weapons, cartridges, and magazines, ballistic vests, narcotics, doses of a substance with characteristics of methamphetamine, dried herb similar to marijuana, caliber 7.62 cartridges, radio communication equipment, and an illicit internet antenna used for surveillance and criminal logistics were secured. In a separate action, a 23-year-old woman allegedly linked to the group was also arrested. Authorities attribute to her the control of lemon marketing in that area, as well as her alleged participation in the murder of citrus leader Bernardo Bravo, which occurred on October 20, 2025. In addition, she has at least seven outstanding arrest warrants: two for homicide, four for aggravated extortion, and one for attempted homicide, and is pointed out as a probable responsible for the crime of aggravated kidnapping, according to her search file. On Saturday, the Michoacán State Attorney General's Office reported that, in coordination with federal authorities, it carried out 24 searches in Apatzingán, derived from investigations for the crimes of extortion, against health, and violation of the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives, allegedly linked to César Alejandro “N”, alias “El Bótox”. In a statement, it indicated that during the proceedings, 116 bags with a substance with characteristics of methamphetamine, five bags with green and dry herb apparently marijuana, personal and accounting documentation allegedly related to a criminal cell, a firearm, 83 caliber 7.62x39 millimeter cartridges, mobile phones, and communication radios were secured. “These actions are part of the follow-up to the operations that allowed the detention of this alleged extorter of lemon producers, and are framed within the joint strategy to debilitate the financial and operational structures of the criminal groups operating in the entity,” stated the Michoacán Prosecutor's Office, while indicating that everything secured was made available to the competent authority.
