Mexico: Celaya Mayor Admits Meetings with Crime Groups

The mayor of Celaya revealed that as mayor-elect, he met with organized crime, which demanded money and positions in his government.

According to him, the incident occurred before taking office. The criminal group issued an ultimatum, threatening consequences in case of refusal. The mayor emphasized that he did not give in to pressure and reported the incident to the relevant authorities.
