The former local deputy of Morena for district 10 based in Tecpan de Galeana, Fortunato Hernández Carbajal, is being sought after being reported missing. Both the State Commission for the Search of Persons of the State of Guerrero and the State Attorney General's Office have issued search notices in an attempt to locate the former popular representative.
Hernández Carbajal, who was a local deputy of the Morena Parliamentary Group in the previous Legislature of the local Congress, was last seen in Chilpancingo, the capital of Guerrero, last Friday. The 72-year-old former legislator has light brown skin, medium dark brown eyes, graying hair, is 1.62 meters tall, and has warts on his neck.
Citizen cooperation is being requested for the prompt location of former deputy Hernández by both institutions. During his time in Congress, Hernández promoted several initiatives in favor of culture, such as the Law for the Promotion of Reading and the Book of the State of Guerrero, among others. In the last legislature, he held various positions such as secretary of the Culture Commission, member of Education, Science and Technology, member of Agricultural and Fishing Development, in addition to presiding over the Committee for Management, Information, and Complaints of the Legislative Power and the member of Library and Informatics.
The disappearance of Hernández Carbajal occurs in a context of intense violence in the region, where recently the homicide of the mayor of Chilpancingo, Alejandro Arcos Catalán, was recorded, and the disappearance of 17 residents of the community of Chautipan. Tragically, the bodies of 11 people were found dead, while 6 individuals, including a minor, remain missing.
