
The Agency for Security, Energy and Environment (ASEA) reported a hydrocarbon spill in the Coatzacoalcos River, Veracruz, that occurred in January. According to the issued statement, the contamination in the river took place on January 2. ASEA conducted an inspection at the Storage and Port Service Terminal (TASP) known as 'Pajaritos,' which is managed by Pemex, on January 22 and 23 of this year.
The statement noted that as a result of these inspection visits, ASEA imposed five corrective measures that are currently under technical analysis. Additionally, reports have been received referring to an alleged hydrocarbon spill that occurred in the same location on February 2. In light of this situation, ASEA has scheduled a new inspection visit to TASP 'Pajaritos' to verify compliance with its environmental obligations.
Regarding this incident, ASEA stated the following: 'As a result of these inspection visits, ASEA imposed five corrective measures that are currently under technical analysis.'
