
In the state of Colima, it is projected to allocate nearly 1.4 billion pesos for the implementation of 9 road infrastructure projects. These include the construction of 5 vehicular bridges, the reconstruction of 3 existing ones, and the Road Conservation Program Bachetón. The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) plans to carry out these projects with significant investment.
One of the highlights is the Arco Sur bypass in Colima, a 1.2 km long work with an investment of 305 million pesos. This site records an average daily traffic of over 21,000 vehicles. Additionally, the construction of the Arco Norte bypass is envisioned in the city of Colima, a 500-meter long bridge that will have an investment of 180 million pesos and reports an average daily traffic of around 60,000 vehicles.
During an event attended by the governor of Colima, Indira Vizcaíno Silva, it was emphasized that by 2026, the construction of 3 bridges in the Port of Manzanillo will take place. Among the mentioned works is the Barrio V Bridge, which will have a length of 700 meters and an investment of 200 million pesos.
The Secretary of the SICT, Jesú Antonio Esteva Medina, explained that the construction of the bridges will begin in April, emphasizing that the works will be underway throughout this year. Furthermore, he highlighted that the Road Conservation Program, known as Bachetón, has progressed significantly, covering a vast area with multiple kilometers of roads. The main objective of the program is to preserve the roads in the region.
Esteva Medina also mentioned that the modernization of the Armería-Manzanillo highway will continue, with an estimated investment of 4,470 million pesos. It is expected that these efforts in road infrastructure will significantly benefit the region and contribute to the development and growth of Colima.
