The Mexican Seismic Alert System urges residents to remain calm and participate in this exercise.
"Remember that today is the first State Drill 2025 for the state of Colima where the Seismic Alert will be activated. At 10:00 hours, those tuning in to local frequencies will be able to hear it, marking the start of the drill. Let's unite and be ready; prevention is our best ally!" the agency stated.
On that day, the Seismic Alert will resonate in several regions of the country at 10:00 hours as part of this exercise. However, the alarm will not be issued in other areas, as the drill is restricted to Colima. If someone outside the region hears the alert at another time, it could be a real earthquake.
The Government of the State of Colima detailed that the Seismic Alert will be broadcast through various radio stations at strategic points in the locality. It is essential to be prepared and alert, as a drill can be the first step toward protection against a real disaster.
