José Mariano "C" was charged with the crime of femicide in the state of Colima, where he is at the disposal of a control and oral judge. The individual is considered responsible for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Alejandra Rivas, and her one-year-old daughter, María José. Furthermore, he is accused of having clandestinely buried them on a property in the El Trapiche neighborhood, in the municipality of Cuauhtémoc.
For almost two years, José Mariano had a romantic relationship with Alejandra, but they became distant when she became pregnant and refused to acknowledge the little girl. The man, originally from the municipality of Villa de Álvarez, works in rodeos.
José Mariano admitted that he planned the murders to hide his infidelity from his wife, with whom he has three children. Alejandra's body was found on Saturday at noon, and her daughter's hours later on the same property. Both were strangled in a motel and buried 40 minutes away.
The accused was arrested by investigative police after showing scratches and bruises indicating a fight. Subsequently, before investigating agents, he confessed to having murdered his ex-girlfriend and her daughter. Meanwhile, his wife filed a report for his disappearance, and Alejandra was buried in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga in a coffin covered in plastic due to her advanced state of decomposition.
