The Colima Prosecutor's Office arrested Mariano 'N' as the presumed responsible for the femicide of Alejandra Rivas Gómez, 35 years old, and her daughter María José, one year old, whose bodies were found in a field in the municipality of Cuauhtémoc on November 9. According to reports, Mariano 'N' would be the father of the girl. The Prosecutor's Office established that they had already located the suspect since the bodies of the mother and daughter were discovered.

The Prosecutor's investigation concluded that Mariano 'N' would be involved in the double femicide, obtaining an arrest warrant that was carried out, and the accused was presented before the judge. The remains of the victims were identified and handed over to their relatives. The Prosecutor's Office communicated this case first to the relatives and then to the public, without affecting the investigations or the legal process, prioritizing the dignity of the victims and justice.

The institution continues to collect evidence to strengthen the case and ensure the punishment of those responsible. Alejandra and María José Rivas Gómez disappeared on November 1 after traveling from Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco, to Colima, where they lost track.
